For this, a brilliant translation from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edith_Grossman\">Edith Grossman<\/a>, published in 2003, has served as a backbone. My work is based also on Francisco Rico's Spanish version (2005), available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cvc.cervantes.es\/literatura\/clasicos\/quijote\/default.htm\">online<\/a>, and it takes into consideration\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cervantesvirtual.com\/obra-visor\/don-quixote-1605-1615--0\/html\/ff78deca-82b1-11df-acc7-002185ce6064_1.html#I_1_\">the classic of John Ormsby<\/a> (1885).\r\n\r\nThe intention is to add a touch of local knowledge from a Spaniard who think <em>Don Quixote<\/em> encompasses all stories in one.\r\n\r\nEdith Grossman's notes are preceded with the suffix 'EG-' as in the printed book. Other notes are numbered starting with the number 1, as footnotes in each chapter.\r\n\r\nThis digital edition uses the annotation tool <a href=\"https:\/\/web.hypothes.is\">Hypothesis<\/a>\u00a0to let readers annotate the text directly on screen.
